In a Wild Panic

In a wild panic she tries to throw herself against the hands of time.
Pushing forward to the end results.
Too impatient to make hast slowly she lets her fear push her blindly forward.
Deep breaths. Pace yourself. Focus. Patience.
A whirling dervish, spinning in practiced meditation,
she is used to this type of movement.
Movement but not progression.
Prayers sent to Heaven
Arms open, reaching in desperate, silent supplication to stormy skies.
Please.
Send your Spirit.
Calming, soothing rain to drown this panic.
Cool and clean to wash away these hot tears.
Faster and faster she spins with arms outstretched.
Throwing, fighting, tearing, clawing, beating her breast in a physical
manifestation of the wild desperation she feels inside.
An expression of the manic passion she feels for The One she can't have... yet.
And so she waits. The only way she can.
Spinning, running, racing towards nothing and everything.
Until the silent stormy skies unlock their iron seal
and she can lift her tired eyes and feel PEACE.

Domestic Goddess

The Domestic Goddess -
At home among the peaches
and the pumpkin patch,
with bare feet on clean wooden floors,
homespun cotton and her hair in braids.
Busy with the babies and the washings.

The sun setting slowly over the valley,
a picture perfect in golden reds.
Dusk descending.
The children playing in the garden
catching crickets.

Quiet now, she sits
at the worn kitchen table.
At home in her kingdom she
waits patiently for her King
to come back from golden
fields and gentle cows.

A warm apple pie with
fresh whipped cream waits
for him, but its his
soft, sweet
Golden Delicious
that catches his eye.
